[Bug 877279] Re: EOG - Image viewer hangs system when opening large image file
EOG 3.10.2 works fine on a computer with sufficient ram. However, if you run this program on an older computer, eg. with only 512 MB of ram, displaying large images (eg. 4000 * 6000, a common size of a modern camera), will cause the computer to hang. The same applies to gThumb. In order to view such images, one can use Shotwell. I reverted to a more lightweight desktop, eg. Xfce, and Ristretto is displaying large images without any issues. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to eog in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/877279 Title: EOG - Image viewer hangs system when opening large image file To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/eog/+bug/877279/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1448616] [NEW] xubuntu15.04 goes into sleep after power-up
Public bug reported: The machine powers up and then goes automatically into sleep. Pressing the power-button again gives the common log-in screen. This appears to be timed, as if you don't succeed to enter your password within a short time, it goes back into sleep again. During booting the screen is blank. Once logged in, everything runs fine, except that the power-down-button doesn't work prperly, the machine goes into sleep. You can only power the machine down by means of sudo shutdown -h now. [Bug 196757] Re: camera automount prevents import
Maybe I have to file another bug. The camera is seen as a gphoto2-filesystem. Open Nautilus (Places - Home Folder) - Edit - Preferences - File Management Preferences - Media Media Handling : If you change the option Photos to Ask what to do or Shotwell Photomanager nothing happens when you plug the camera in. However, if you change the option Musicplayer to be opened with Shotwell, then shotwell is started at plugging the camera in! This means that a gphoto2-filesystem is considered as a music-file-system ??? Alas, when Shotwell is started, you still have to unmount the camera before Shotwell can use it. -- camera automount prevents import https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/196757 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

When the camera-icon pops up and you click right, then you are allowed to open the camera with Rhythmbox, VLCPlayer, ... This does not make sense it all! I would rather expect to see F-Spot, Shotwell, Picasa, ... here. (Anyway, the Shotwell-people do have anticipated this bug, because Shotwell allows you to unmount the camera before downloading your stuff). -- camera automount prevents import https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/196757 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 405544] Re: Kernel does not recognize blank optical media
I did a clean install of ubuntu 10.4 on a dell Inspiron 5150 (cd/dvd- drive = CDRW/DVD SBW-242). I can burn a blank cd by means of Brasero (brasero indicates the correct number of bytes available). If one clicks on the desktop-icon (mounted device) - properties : 0 bytes used, 0 bytes free == wrong number of free bytes is indicated). However if I insert a blank DVD, there is some activity on the drive, but no errors are generated (dmeg, debug , ...) nor a mounted-icon is generated. I encounter the same messages (See the loggings and testresults in Bug #602862). To my opinion, this is not a Brasero-bug as Nautilus reports that the empty CD has no free space as well. [Bug 421576] Re: F-Spot does no longer create directories per day
I found a work around! I noticed in my home-folder a folder named foto's (This means photos in my native language). I found this odd, as I used to save my raw photos into the folder Photos. This folder was empty. I deleted the folder, but each time F-Spot was trying to import photos, an empty folder foto's was created (although the photos were imported into $HOME/Photos). When I selected another import-destination, F-Spot kept saving photos into /HOME/Photos. When I selected $HOME/foto's as the destination-folder, then the photos were imported into that folder and the proper sub-folders were created! eg.foto's/2009/08/30, foto's/2009/08/31, ... :-) If a photo is imported that resides already in the folder Photo's, then the photo is not saved in one of the subfolders of /foto's, but in /foto's. Anyhow, this work-around saved my day! -- F-Spot does no longer create directories per day https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/421576 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to f-spot in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 421576] Re: F-Spot does no longer create directories per day
I thought a symbolic link could help to use the folder Photos again, eg. ln -s Foto's Photos. But I you select Photos as the destination-folder, F-Spot is saving all the photos into Photos (= Foto's) without making the necessary subfolders. If you specify Foto's the photos are classified on a daily basis. So can I use Photos in nautilus, but I need to specify Foto's for F-Spot (although both folders are the same). The same applies if you make another symbolic link eg. ln -s Photos Foto's. [Bug 421576] [NEW] F-Spot does no longer create directories per day
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: f-spot When I was importing photos by means of F-Spot (Ubuntu 8.10) all pictures were nicely classified in directories per day. Eg. Photos/2009/08/30 ... Photos/2009/08/29 ... Photos/2009/08/28 ... In installed Ubuntu 9.04 and now all photos are imported into the directoy Photos. F-Spot does no longer create the subdirectories on a time-basis. This feature was very useful for me as I can't import my photos daily. F-Spot was sorting them automatically for me in the proper directory-tree. Has this feature been removed in Ubuntu 9.04 ? [Bug 314718] [NEW] Icon of launcher changes when moving launcher to/from panel
Public bug reported: 1. Create a launcher on the desktop (Right click mouse) 2. Don't specify an icon (keep the default icon) 3. Close dialog 4. Alter properties of launcher -- specify an icon right now 5. Close dialog 6. Move launcher to top-panel = launcher on top-panel gets back the default-icon ! If you create a launcher and specify the icon at the time the launcher is created, then the icon is persistent, that is to say, when the launcher is moved to another panel it keeps the icon. Of course, this is a rather small detail and can be overcome easily by specifying the icon at creating the launcher ** Affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Icon of launcher changes when moving launcher to/from panel https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/314718 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-panel in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
