Good to know, the reproduction steps provided are only the ones I went through, since that is how my environment is set up to cause the bug. On Fri, May 20, 2011 at 1:14 PM, Matt Moen 784...@bugs.launchpad.netwrote: I don't think this is limited to having gedit in startup applications. To reproduce this bug, all I need to do (in a Unity desktop): 1. Open gedit from the terminal, unity search, or a unity launch desktop shortcut, and 2. Open a text document through nautilus. Nautilus will open a second instance and all documents opened through nautilus load in that instance. [Bug 644431] [NEW] Side effects when right clicking on bottom scrollbar while dragging
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gedit In a gedit document with a bottom scrollbar, with multiple tabs open, unintended side effects occur. WHILE dragging the bottom scrollbar, right-clicking will switch the current document over to the tab which is directly over the mouse. [Bug 333269] Re: leave message uses an ugly and confusing dialog
Great, now that this still exists in Karmic, let's get it through for Lucid, shall we? As stated above, it does seem like a gnome-screensaver regression (since pre-Jaunty, it used notification-daemon), so a patch to gnome- screensaver would be easy to implement (if I knew how, I'd do it). indicator-applet is on by default, why don't we just use that to link to the tomboy notes app (as mentioned previously)? Notify-osd can be invoked to notify the user that a message has been left, and indicator- applet can keep the notification persistent if the user misses the notify-osd popup. -- leave message uses an ugly and confusing dialog https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/333269 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-screensaver in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 399974] Re: 'Keep Aligned' option always resets to 'true' after desktop reload
Hello ^^, sorry i'm new so i haven't provided any info at all(but i'm willing to if u kindly point me out where to search ^^) I'll explain: After I've freshly installed 9.10 64bit, i moved my username folder content on a separate partition mounted boottime from fstab. At the beginning i thought was that, maybe i mistook something thou...no. It's not that. Even remming the line and rebooting cause the same issue: Icons being kept aligned(right click on desktop-uncheck 'Keep Aligned'). After a reboot, relogin or simply refreshing hitting F5 i got it rechecked. Right now i'm checking the configuration manually(system tools-configuration editor). I see that the variable associated to that(/apps/nautilus/desktop-metadata/directory/nautilus-icon-view-keep- aligned) it's not a bool but it's a string...even changin it to false(and even after reboot it is still false) doesn't change everything. Ok i've checked the config...changing to bool(false) and hitting F5 reset it to string(true). Setting the string to false and fixing it with mandatory...do not change a bit! [Bug 490853] [NEW] gdm loading bar animation should appear on primary monitor, not leftmost monitor
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gdm Karmic allows the second monitor to be involved in gdm... great! ... and when two monitors are set up, gdm detects the resolution of the primary monitor (in my case, 1680x1050) and places the animation on the LEFTMOST monitor, which in my case, is not so. Unfortunately not, as a requirement for this was a broken USB drive. I've re-formatted the drive since, so I can no longer reproduce this on demand.
