This happens for me too on jaunty with all my cameras (EOS 50D, 350D, Ixus 70, haven't tried my Nokia phone) It seems to happen because f-spot and (gvfs? nautilus?) both want to use the device when it's plugged in. gvfs to mount it, f-spot to import from it. [Bug 346648] [NEW] Develop in UFRaw won't work in Dutch locale, because of escaping problems
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: f-spot I use F-Spot in a Dutch environment, and there it creates a Foto's folder (that's bug #127315) to import everything into. This works great, except when trying to develop RAW files: the DevelopInUFraw extension (or the shell?) cries when it's fed a filename with a single quote in it (for obvious reasons). That backtrace is still not OK, but I've been trying for almost an hour, and I can't seem to get a good one either. [Bug 145657] Re: Age of contacts with birthdate 1970 always looks like they were born in 1970
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 48679 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/48679 I don't think this is a duplicate. I've forced the age to 1960 by using the calendar dropdown in the contact/edit panel, and it shows like '1960' in other places (most notably, the contact details page in Evolution (when you click on a contact and see his details in the bottom pane) -- Age of contacts with birthdate 1970 always looks like they were born in 1970 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/145657 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 141160] Re: When remote desktop access is disabled, vino-session will still run
Just setting/unsetting a key in gconf won't start a daemon. That's what the session bit does -- it watches the gconf key, and starts a daemon if it's changed to true (I guess). So you'd have to log out and back in again for the daemon to start if you changed the key manually. So gnome- session should be taught to run daemons when certain gconf keys change. Or you could make the preferences applet start the daemon (but that depends on the applet running on the same $DISPLAY)... or something. -- When remote desktop access is disabled, vino-session will still run https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/141160 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 118745] Re: default desktop/panel menu font sizes too small
Tim, you should try to set the font to the right size, while keeping the DPI the same, calculated value. The DPI is getting more and more important as high-pixel-density monitors appear (I have a 150dpi laptop here), as people usually don't want to read 5 pixel high fonts on those screens. If we get more programs to cope with DPI properly, we won't have to solve this problem in the future, when all panels are 150dpi. -- default desktop/panel menu font sizes too small https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/118745 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 114498] GTK font selection minimum size is too large for 150dpi screens
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: libgtk2.0-0 I've recently upgraded to Gutsy, and the fonts in my programs became larger. This is actually good: GTK is now paying attention to the DPI of my screen. However, my screen has an absurd DPI (147x145; 1920x1200 @ 15.4), and I don't need large fonts, so I set my font size smaller. I noticed that all GTK font selection dialogs have a minimum size of 8.0, which is actually still at bit large (compared to pixel density). It's possible to manually enter a lower value (and I did), but I think that a few values lower than 8 should be present, especially because more high-pixel-density panels are expected in the future. ** Affects: gtk+2.0 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- GTK font selection minimum size is too large for 150dpi screens https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/114498 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gtk+2.0 in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 70705] Re: Totem doesn't use .asx playlists correctly
No, all servers are currently up. You can fake it by getting the .asx I linked to, and changing the first URI to a place that gives you Connection Refused (I changed it to 'http://localhost:12345/). I've attached a 'fixed' (I've done the - amp; conversion, so that's not a problem anymore) version of the live64.asx, but with http://localhost:12345/ instead of http://switch.streamgate.nl/; which breaks it again: it won't skip to the second stream when the first stream gives a 'Connection Refused'. ** Attachment added: Example of this problem http://librarian.launchpad.net/5689315/live64.asx -- Totem doesn't use .asx playlists correctly https://launchpad.net/bugs/70705 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 70705] Totem doesn't use .asx playlists correctly
Public bug reported: Dutch public radio is available online, using some kind of windows audio stream. Usually, this works correctly in Totem, but today it didn't. Nothing has changed in the asx files, but one of the listed servers seems to be down. Instead of failing over to the next server, totem pops up an error claiming Connection refused (which is wrong, it's 500: Internal server error). If I use the Windows mediaplayer, or play the alternative directly, it works correctly. ** Affects: totem (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Totem doesn't use .asx playlists correctly https://launchpad.net/bugs/70705 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 12585] tsclient uses LC_CTYPE not LC_MESSAGES for banner with words
Public bug reported: The top part of the tsclient connect window has a graphical banner in it. The language of this banner is defined by LC_CTYPE (via gtk_get_default_language()). This breaks for my setup, where everything is nl_NL, except LC_MESSAGES, which is en_GB. There are 2 fixes possible: use a different way of retrieving the locale, and use LC_MESSAGES, or fix GTK's gtk_get_default_language() to return LC_MESSAGES (which, I think, might fix a lot of other bugs like this as well -- but it might also introduce more bugs..) ** Affects: tsclient (Ubuntu) Importance: Low Assignee: Ubuntu Desktop Bugs Status: Needs Info -- tsclient uses LC_CTYPE not LC_MESSAGES for banner with words https://launchpad.net/bugs/12585 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 12585] Re: tsclient uses LC_CTYPE not LC_MESSAGES for banner with words
Yes. Setting LANG=nl_NL.UTF-8 and LC_MESSAGES to C makes the entire application show up in English, except for the banner at the top, which is in Dutch. Other way around make the app show up in Dutch, with the banner in English.
