[Bug 1336184] Re: USB flash drive (NTFS) keeps writing for quite a while even after Eject completes

2014-09-06 Thread Michele Giacomoli
Hi, this afternoon I realized I have the same problem. I never noticed
before because i often work with FAT32 or EXT filesystems, that aren't
affected from this problem

[Bug 1336184] Re: USB flash drive (NTFS) keeps writing for quite a while even after Eject completes

2014-09-06 Thread Michele Giacomoli
@sumedh

Where did you see that mounting a FAT32 device adds the flush mount
option?

In this moment I have both an ext4 and a ntfs external hdds mounted and
running. reading from a cat /etc/mtab output none of them has the
flush option, but I'm pretty sure that with the ext4 hdd I don't have
this problem. I noticed that the NTFS device has fuseblk as mount
type. Maybe the problem is inside fuse. Here is my cat /etc/mtab
portion:

 /dev/sdd1 /media/michele/47D7D336684BC661 fuseblk
rw,nosuid,nodev,allow_other,default_permissions,blksize=4096 0 0
/dev/sdc /media/michele/Backup_Server ext4 rw,nosuid,nodev,uhelper=udisks2 0 0

2014-06-30 Thread Michele Giacomoli
Sorry Dirk, I war referring to comment #58, and didn't see that comment #61
was by Anish too.

In comment #58 Anish submitted a diff marked as a patch. I'd like to apply
the patch, recompile unity, and try if it works

2014-06-30 23:59 GMT+02:00 Dirk Mcbratney djmcbrat...@gmail.com:

It's not a patch - those are shell commands. Drop them straight into the
terminal, authenticate, and it'll rename the files and fix the problem.

[Bug 1170647] Re: Clicking on Nautilus’ launcher icon opens new window instead of restoring the minimized one when browsing external drives/locations

2014-01-21 Thread Michele Giacomoli
I have 3 other partitions apart from Ubuntu 14.04 one, one of which is
set in fstab to be automatically mounted at startup (and not by gvfsd).
I've noticed the behavior mentioned in this bug applies for the other
partitions, but not for this one. Maybe this info could be useful. Here
is the relative fstab line:

UUID=4031F06913658C89 /mnt/DATI auto nosuid,nodev,nofail,x-gvfs-show 0 0

[Bug 992533] Re: [fglrx] gnome-control-center reports desktop monitor as Laptop

2012-08-31 Thread Michele Giacomoli
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 970560 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/970560

I don't think this bug is a duplicate of bug #970560. In fact robert
doesn't say his monitor is seen as laptop, but his Desktop, those big
boxes we had in our home until some years ago, nowadays replaced by
laptops :)

In fact i recently noticed that on two desktops (one is mine, the other
is of a friend of mine) their monitor are seen as laptop instead of
the real name of the monitor. In addiction to this I have to say that
both computers have a NVIDIA graphic card, but I suspect this
misbehavior is present also with ATI ones

Honesty... It seems i'm not affected anymore from this bug. When i
scroll using the wheel it seeks forward/backward and just near the end
of the played track if seek forward it skips to the next entry in the
playlist

Here is my Displays Window, as you can see all the monitors are named

monitors is the laptop one.

Also in Color capplet I can see all the monitors listed with the same
