[Bug 1987406] [NEW] No duplex scan - only frontage is scanned
Public bug reported: Hi, I'm on Linux Mint 21 Vanessa and they are using the sane-airscan package from Ubuntu as well. Current version on my system is 0.99.27-1build1. My printer is recognized as follows: airscan-discover [devices] Brother ADS-2400N = http://192.168.xxx.xxx:80/WebServices/ScannerService, WSD It is connected via LAN to a WiFi access point in my home network. Before the system upgrade to the new Mint Version everything was OK and I remember there was a different driver structure for remote devices. When running a duplex scan in scanimage or GUI applications like simple- scan now, all pages go through the automatic feed. But then, only the front pages are visible in the output. Duplex scanning works again since removing sane-airscan, manually installing drivers from the Brother homepage and adding the device with brsaneconfig. ** Affects: sane-airscan (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to sane-airscan in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1987406 Title: No duplex scan - only frontage is scanned To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sane-airscan/+bug/1987406/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1971455] Re: Super slow file saves in Gimp on Kubuntu 22.04
Further test after closing all Dolphin windows yielded a more typical file save time for the 200 layer project. Additional testing to be done with the 250 layer project. The issue with Dolphin sub processes hogging system resources will affect many other possible uses apart from Gimp file saves and should be accorded a high priority for resolution. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gimp in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1971455 Title: Super slow file saves in Gimp on Kubuntu 22.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gimp/+bug/1971455/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1872870] Re: When zoom is enabled, mouse pointer leaves square trails on desktop
So as a number of people have already observed, this bug is kind of a showstopper for many using Gnome's magnification feature on a regular basis, and it should definitely be fixed sooner rather than later. However, looking at the behavior of the bug, I noticed there were no trails when the zoom feature was on and zoomed in. They're only present if the zoom setting is at 1.0 but the zoom feature is on. As a workaround, I wrote a small script that adds some logic to zooming in and out. If the feature is off and a zoom in is requested, the zoom is set to 2.0 and then the zoom feature is turned on. If a zoom out is requested and the updated magnification would be less than 2.0, i.e. fully zoomed out, the new magnification is set and then the feature is disabled. So, if you use the script to zoom in and out, you won't see trails, since the zoom feature will be disabled at max zoom. The script can be found on GitHub here: https://github.com/smythp/gnome-magnifier-mouse-trails-workaround I've provided some usage guidance in the README and added some xbindkeys settings in another file that will replicate the default Gnome zoom in and out shortcuts. I haven't tested it extensively, feel free to contribute or open an issue, though no promises as to quality here. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1872870 Title: When zoom is enabled, mouse pointer leaves square trails on desktop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mutter/+bug/1872870/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1922353] Re: Overview sometimes fails to appear or disappear in 21.04
My bug report, Bug 1922353, was marked as a duplicate of this one. It probably is the same bug though the symptoms are a bit different. The only element to "get stuck" was the Ubuntu bar, which I disabled (when it stopped being response to touchpad or touchscreen gestures). Other than that, while "Overview" was unreponsive to the touchscreen or touchpad, I've always been able to "Esc" out of it. I can or can't tab through the choices. Hitting is usually my only option after searching for an app. Sorry I haven't more to add. I've been avoiding my Surface Go since this bug has cropped up. :( Nothing, not even Windows, works well on this device. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1922353 Title: Overview sometimes fails to appear or disappear in 21.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1922353/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 971880] Re: go on line to edit your personal information

[Bug 1015791] Re: cannot configure machine to suspend below a battery threshold
To OP - what you describe is gnome-power-manager. [Bug 958052] Re: Show battery status in menu bar does not work
Battery problems in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (64 bit): Laptop Specs.. TOSHIBA L755 with an Intel Core i3 Processor (it is 64bit, hence that is why I use Ubuntu 64 bit) with 4GB RAM, with about a 500 GB Hard Drive (that really doesn't matter) and a Battery and Charger that is NOT even 7 months old.. when working, Ubuntu Power Stats tells me that it has a capacity of 99% and only can't charge about .5 Wh of about what it should (because it is at 99% capacity).. TOSHIBA BRANDED health monitor told me when I was using Windows 7 Home Premium that the battery had a 85% Health... None the less, the battery STILL works and lasts up to 4 or 4.5 hours depending on what I am doing.. The ONLY reason why the battery doesn't last like a crazy 8 hours is because I am always using the Battery to surf the web... In fact... I am using the battery right now to post this comment Anyways, I also experience the problem.. Battery isn't indicated sometime (READ: Most of the time); even though it is there. I am using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64 bit with the LATEST updates as of 6/5/12 and am using GNOME 3.4.1 as the desktop environment.. I tried using Unity, but it doesn't show up there, either.. None the less.. I don't like Unity because of it's hard to use interface.. Anyways, if you put the system on Suspend (close the laptop lid), then when you wakeup, the battery indicator will likely be there, but I need it to be there all of the time.. I tried do the ALT + F2 and running "r" as the command and it doesn't help at all. I also tried various things such as logging out and logging back in AND running "gnome-control-center" in Terminal.. no errors, but the Power setting to show the battery status all of the time doesn't stick.. the value doesn't stick. That is my two cents on the battery statuses in Ubuntu 12.04... Confirmed in totem 3.0.1-0ubuntu21, using gnome-shell 3.4.1-0ubuntu2 (normal Gnome shell, not fallback 2D) as my GUI. The procedures I took to reproduce: 1. Open Totem (with no files loaded). 2. Open Nautilus to folder(s) containing music tracks. 3. Drag-and-drop enough music files from to overflow the playlist. I used Celestial Aeon Project albums "Fable (MP3)", "Mind's Eye (OGG)", and "Miracle (MP3)" from jamendo. 4. Verify all files are loaded into Totem and a track is playing. 6. Click anywhere on the playlist. 7. Roll the mouse wheel up or down. Actual result: The track position (as reporter noted) moves, AND the position in the list of files moves as well. If my data was uploaded, then it should contain the trace from an amd64 system (as I'm running Linux dcky-ubuntu64 3.2.0-22-generic #35-Ubuntu SMP Tue Apr 3 18:33:15 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux for a kernel). If my traces were not uploaded, please let me know what you need and where to find them (or how to get them). I'll be more than happy to upload them. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-disk-utility in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/743724 Title: gvfs-gdu-volume-monitor crashed with SIGABRT in raise() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-disk-utility/+bug/743724/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 743724] Re: gvfs-gdu-volume-monitor crashed with SIGABRT in raise()
I can reproduce it in a clean installation of 12.04. When I reported it using the Crash Detection tool, it brought me to this bug (so I'm not sure whether or if my data was uploaded).
