Not at all. The issue is that evolution is opening lots of small files
on the local hard disk (not via NFS - I'm running an NFS server, not
client), which resource starves the NFS server running on the same box.
I highly doubt this problem is isolated to evolution, but since it's the

I beg to differ - this is a bug (albeit a bit of a touchy-feely bug with
little hard data). Probably kernel related more than anything (lots of
small files being opened/closed, causing excessive interrupt load/busy
waiting). Possibly even the SATA disk/drivers doing bad things (haven't

fresh 7.04 install.

Attached is a diff I've done that seems to fix the issue for me. I've
squeezed the patches from Gnome bug 128983 into the source from 6.06.
Not sure if it's 100% correct, but may help others who are suffering
from misaligned project plans.

Can we get the simple fix for this into 6.06? This bug makes the
application look very amateurish.
The fixes aren't that big or extensive - surely they can be patched in
with little effort? I may even do it myself - I'll report back if I get
it working...

Vino doesn't support clipboard features between the VNC client and the VNC
server. For example, using a regular VNC server with tightVNC client on my win2k
box, I can select text in an Xterm window, switch back to windows and do a
'CTRL-V' to paste the text into a windows app.

packages when I get into work next week and attempt to reproduce.

Quick note: this bug doesn't seem to be in dapper (dapper running in qemu under
Ubuntu 5.10). I'll re-test when I've got a 'real' dapper install to test
against.

being actively investigated). Please reopen and leave open - if this bug is
