[Bug 196157] Re: [hardy] totem-xine dvb playback no channels list

2008-12-14 Thread Stefan Güls
I can confirm this bug on intrepid.
totem-xine crashes when attempting to watch TV on adapter 0, while xine-ui or
calling totem-xine with a DVB://[channelname] URI works.

DVB-T card in my case, ~/.xine/channels.conf known to be well formed.

[Bug 196157] Re: [hardy] totem-xine dvb playback no channels list

2008-12-14 Thread Stefan Güls
** (totem-xine:12213): WARNING **: Metadata for index 0 not in UTF-8 for
mrl 'dvb://WDR K\xf6ln'

This seems to be the problem. totem-xine doesn't seem to like non-english
characters in channel.conf.
i tried a channels.conf where i edited out all channels with non-us
characters it works then

[Bug 151937] Re: [Regression] gnome-settings-daemon fails to start on Gutsy RC

2007-10-12 Thread Stefan Güls
Ok, here's the error i get:

Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application
did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply,
the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.

Duplicating the bug was meant to help you to get a reference, as you
wrote in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-
center/+bug/138277

closing the bug, if somebody still get an issue you should open a new
bug about it

So here it is. Backtrace will follow soon

[Bug 151937] Re: [Regression] gnome-settings-daemon fails to start on Gutsy RC

2007-10-12 Thread Stefan Güls
Ok, i figured that one out:

i copied over some files (/etc/hosts) from my feisty install, ipv6 on lo
interface was disabled.
A look at .xsession-erros was the hit with the cluebat i needed.

Marking invalid bug and moving to /dev/null

No, as of gdm version 2.20.0-0ubuntu2 the theme changing is fixed.

Bug 132833 still applies, background color still wrong after login

[Bug 137031] Re: GDM Theme changes are ignored

2007-09-04 Thread Stefan Güls
Here is the content of /etc/gdm, output of ls -la /etc/gdm and the dpkg
--set-selections list of the install where the theme change is completly
ignored.
As said this was a server install, followed by installation of the
ubuntu-desktop metapackage minus some unwanted programs.

[Bug 137031] Re: GDM Theme changes are ignored

2007-09-04 Thread Stefan Güls
Here are the outputs of strace gdmsetup 21 | tee gdm-debug.log from
both machines.

Symptoms on desktop-install machine: gdm-theme is set to 'Happy-GNOME'
/with/ face browser, although face browser is disabled and 'Happy-Gnome'
/without/ face browser is selected. Background colour is default milky
brown from 'Human', although light grey is set.

Symptoms on server-install machine: Theme is always 'Human' (with milky
brown background), Changes in gdm-setup are completly ignored.

Re: [Bug 137031] Re: GDM Theme changes are ignored

2007-09-03 Thread Stefan Güls
I have this issue on 2 different systems. Both are fresh installs and
up-to-date.
One system is a server-install and ubuntu-desktop on top, the other is a
plain Deskop CD install.
On the desktop install machine the theme change worked, but the background
colour is not correct (although set to black, it still shows that milky
brown from the Human theme).
The server install insist on using he Human theme, no matter what i set in
the gdmsetup-applet.

(perrmission issue? /etc/gdm/gdm.conf-custom not honoured?)
