I can not get this to work on Ubuntu 12.04. I have gnome-user-share
installed (don't remember if it was by default) and used Personal File
Sharing to enable Receive Files in Downloads folder over Bluetooth
(tried enable Share public files over Bluetooth as well). The Nokia
5800 just complains

Tested successfully on 10.04.2:
With old 2.30.2-0ubuntu1: Whether cdrdao is installed or not, I get An
internal error occured with Unsupported type of task operation in the saved
log.
With new 2.30.2-0ubuntu1.1: Without cdrdao it asks me to install cdrdao and
toc2cue, however toc2cue is not
Tested on a pretty clean Maverick install:
With 2.32.0-ubuntu2.1 brasero would just abort after clicking on Create Image.
With 2.32.0-ubuntu2.2 from maverick-proposed, it now ask kindly to install
cdrdao, afterwards it starts to read the CD as it should. Did not have the

I wonder if there is some confusion here to what exactly is the login
sound. The double drums as the login screen appears is played (if at
all) by gdm and is configured in System-Administration-Login
Screen-Play login sound.
The sound tune played after you have successfully entered the password

This can be related to bug 640807, but the twist here is that the
resolution was correct the first time, on the 9-23 which was after the
g-s-d change in question there.
Can you please try to boot from the 10.10 RC Desktop CD and see if the
correct resolution is chosen? Then attach dmesg and
maik, are you running the 10.10 RC Desktop CD? Otherwise it might be
that you have for instance the cdrdao package additionally installed on
your system. AFAIK cdrdao is not installed by default.

Pedro, I can reproduce this with the 10.10 RC Desktop CD, so I am not
sure you tried hard enough :) I can not see that hardware plays a
difference here. I get the same crash both with a music CD and a data CD
to copy.

We had a discussion on IRC #ubuntu-x right now, and the consensus was
that by default, g-s-d should not turn external screens on or off, but
leave it the way the X server has set it up. If the user later
configures things on/off these settings will be applied next time.

It seems like similar issues have been discovered in bug 640807 so more
people are looking at it. When you have the possibility, try booting
with the boot option (added to the grub kernel line) radeon.modeset=0 to
check if this is a bug in the kernel video driver only.

Thanks! The logs show that both 1280x800 and 1360x768 are detected as
valid modes, and the X server chooses 1280x800 as the preferred mode,
which also works fine. However, gnome-settings-daemon (if
turn_on_external_monitors_at_startup is true) forces the 1360x786 mode
which does not work.

OK, Tony's problem was that compiz was not installed but was configured
to be used. Was this after upgrading from Karmic?
The original problem in the other bug was also compiz missing, which the
reporter fixed by installing meta-packages. I don't think that bug
should have been marked fixed

Well, yes, if you can, but the point is not everybody can set triaged.
A developer assigns a bug to himself when he has decided to work on it.
Anyway, this might be a bug in the Nvidia closed-source proprietary
driver so there is not much we can do about it.

IMO, it is most intuitive if ctrl-U (or the menu entry) hides/shows
(toggles) the user list, but that is a bit inconsistent with the way it
works with the pop-up list, where ctrl-U displays it and the escape key
dismisses it.

Maia, thanks for your work on this. I have tested the PPA packages, and
unfortunately there are some issues. Choosing Discussion-Users (ctrl-U)
now brings up an empty window which does not go away.
It seems that not all of the upstream developers are against such an
option, so I would encourage
a hardware button, gnome-power-manager will take care of
suspending, and also locks the screen.

Importance is low because it has not been confirmed that it is a
widespread or valid issue. Works fine here. How do you enter suspend?
Indicator-applet or some special keyboard/hardware button?
