Just said I needed to report a bug on reboot. I had just tried to run
Synaptic to install Skype and it said that it coulldn't run because apt-
get or apt something was already running.
This is affecting me also. In my case it is no longer able to render an
SVG file containing an embedded SVG in the xlink tag.

I think you did
# ./configure --prefix=/build/pkg/usr/
# make make install
and then wanted to move/copy the links that were made, but they were
absolute rather than relative links, so this did not work?
If I understand correctly, I can fix this in the next release, or
perhaps a point
ln -s $(notdir $(SHLIB_ABI_VER)) $(SHLIB_ANY_VER)
This would give relative links instead of absolute links, which is the
correct behaviour, right?

Colin -- I checked in configure in purpose - it's part of the source

autoconf-2.13 as a dependency for projects embedding SpiderMonkey and
building from (or incorporating) the source tarball.

@Richard: I like the immediate feedback that your patch adds to the menu
editor. It's a definite improvement, but It doesn't really solve the
problem of where the items get placed once you drop them. If you open
the Menu Editor and drag an item up or down, you'll notice a black line
that appears
@Richard: I must have done something wrong then because I'm still having
the same problem in Jaunty 64-bit. I downloaded the source code for
alacarte, moved the patch file into the source code folder, and applied
the patch (patch -p0 MenuEdit.patch). It said that the patch was
successfully
@Richard: I patched the file in /usr/share/pyshared/Alacarte and it
works exactly as expected now. Thank you for your help, and hopefully
the patch will make its way into the next release.
