[Bug 2016308] Re: gnome-shell crashed with signal 6: libmutter:ERROR:../src/core/window.c:1533:meta_window_unmanage: assertion failed: (window->display->focus_window != window)

2023-05-10 Thread Diego A. Elizondo
I am using NetBeans 12.5 another way to replicate this bug: add two
JFrame and configure a button in one of the JFrame with the following
code:

 new NewJFrame().setVisible(true);
 this.dispose();

Wayland session: the OS freezes and closes the session.
Xorg session : the OS freezes but it does not close the session and keeps the
program open

Re: [Bug 1942655] Re: problem after minimizing windows

2021-09-06 Thread Diego Iboy
Being all day trying to replicate the bug, with the extensions disabled,
the bug was not replicated at any time, using the PC in a normal way, as at
all times, I attach the extensions that I use, I do not deduce which can
cause the bug .

which I will continue using it in this way until the end of the day to see

[Bug 1942655] [NEW] problem after minimizing windows

2021-09-03 Thread Diego Iboy
Public bug reported:

Hello, the problem that I am presented with is basic, but quite annoying.
At any time without any type of pattern, when minimizing a window (of any
program), these remain as "background", and become part of the wallpaper. You
do not interact with it but it remains static on the site.
I attach an example.
The only temporary solution that has worked for me is to log out, but it almost
certainly happens again.
I appreciate the help :)

The problem here is no the scaling itself, the problem here is being
able to separate screens configurations, fractional or not. You must be
able to set font sizes, scale, backgrounds, resolutions, etc, per screen
in an independent way.

[Bug 1862006] Re: dock vanishes on primary monitor after locking screen if full screen windows are active on secondary monitor

2020-02-05 Thread Diego Nuevo
I left the package field blank intentionally because I'm really not sure
if gnome-shell is the appropriate package. This is a problem related
with: window management and placement, GNOME dock and lockscreen.

** Package changed: ubuntu => gnome-shell (Ubuntu)

[Bug 1802574] Re: laptop screen never comes on after undock / sleep / open of laptop

2019-09-25 Thread Diego Fernandez
I'm having the same issue (mostly) with Ubuntu 19.04.

I'm using:
WM: i3
DM: LightDM
Dock: Caldigit TS3 Plus with 2 monitors connected through DP daisy chain

If I suspend after undocking, when I resume the screen is blank, but the
laptop is not frozen because I can still type in commands and stuff. I
can hit my configured shortcut to reboot and it does. For me, attempting
to switch to a different TTY does not work. However, when it goes into
the reboot sequence, the Ubuntu screen does show up before shutting
down.

I tried changing the following entris with dconf:

/org/gnome/mines/use-animations
/org/gnome/desktop/interface/enable-animations
/org/gnome/shell/extensions/dash-to-dock/animation-time
/org/gnome/shell/extensions/dash-to-dock/animate-show-apps

In fact Fedora 29 has the same problem, only it has to come out a month later

2018-04-14 Thread Diego Leal

[Bug 1699557] [NEW] Evolution: send inline images as attachments

2017-06-21 Thread Diego Chaparro
Public bug reported:

Since I upgraded from Ubuntu 16 to Ubuntu 17, evolution has stopped
working when sending HTML messages with inline images, copy/paste an
image inside the body not as attachment. Previous to the update, the
images were sent and received inside the HTML body and displayed
correctly in the email content. Since I upgraded, the images are
received as attachments and they aren't displayed inside the HTML
message content.

The problem seems to be on the HTML sent, because I've tested to receive
the messages in different email clients (Evolution and Outlook) and all
of them receives the email images in the same way, as attachments, not
inside the HTML content.

For years they lived together in Ubuntu an installer programs and Synaptic. And

All the more reason to have two different installers for different

[Bug 1628666] [NEW] Ubuntu Software does not recognize Ubuntu one user / passwords when trying to install snap packages

[Bug 263822] Re: RTL (right to left) support in terminal (BiDi)

2016-02-13 Thread Diego Iastrubni
Usama,

The reason for bug #1537064 is me nagging Yaron. The problem of BiDi
cannot be solved in a terminal vt100 environment. The reason - is that
the application does not telling the VTE the boundaries of the
paragraph.

Imagine "mc" opeenning a dialog to rename a file. Lets check the
options;

1) A line contains RTL - apply BiDi to it and display line in RTL. Funny
things will happen, as the line bellow will also be reverted. The file name of
the right panel - will be on the left.
2) Even funnier - when you type lam and aliph - those will be displayed as a
single glyph on screen and the app counted two unicode chars (4 bytes in UTF8)
and now the left margin is off by one (the frames of the dialog are also text,
remember - the app needs to pad spaces until the "|" char will be displayed).
3) OK - instead of reverting a whole line - lets revers each word - this is
broken since you now have proper words in LTR order (lets ignore #2)
4) OK - lets detect the word boundary and de-order "n" words - when happens
when the first word of the next paragraph starts with an english word? the
direction will be broken.

I assume we can find other problems. Lets find solutions:
1) Do the BiDi in apps, while assuming the ternimal is dumb: OK, it will work
on xterm, konsole, gnome-terminal, and VT. Problem - we need to fix *ALL*
terminal apps.
2) Do the BiDi in terminals - in order to fix all above problems, we need a way
to report to the terminal about the regions that will contain text that he may
modify. Then code a reference implementation, issue an RFC and port to all
other terminals.

TL.DR. Ternimals are broken by design and cannot support RTL/BIDI. Just
move on and use X11/Wayland for Arabic/Farsi/Hebrew/Whatever and don't
translate those interfaces to the native languages on terminals.

[Bug 1453991] [NEW] gnome-terminal ignores the command line options --name and --class

2015-05-11 Thread Diego Luna
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu version:

Description:Ubuntu 15.04
Release:15.04

Package version:

gnome-terminal:
  Installed: 3.14.2-0ubuntu3
  Candidate: 3.14.2-0ubuntu3
  Version table:
 *** 3.14.2-0ubuntu3 0
500 http://mirrors.coopvgg.com.ar/ubuntu/ vivid/main amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Description:

gnome-terminal ignores the command line options --name and --class.
These options are listed with gnome-terminal --help as general gtk+
options. They should set the WM_CLASS property of the terminal window,
so window managers can manage properties of individual windows separately.

The WM_CLASS property can be displayed with the xprop command.

Example:

# gnome-terminal
# xprop WM_CLASS
(point the cursor on the terminal window)
WM_CLASS(STRING) = gnome-terminal-server, Gnome-terminal

# gnome-terminal --disable-factory --name foo --class bar
# xprop WM_CLASS
WM_CLASS(STRING) = gnome-terminal-server, Gnome-terminal

Here is how it should be:

# gnome-terminal
# xprop WM_CLASS
WM_CLASS(STRING) = gnome-terminal-server, Gnome-terminal

#gnome-terminal --disable-factory --class foo --name bar
# xprop WM_CLASS
WM_CLASS(STRING) = bar, foo

[Bug 1247668] Re: NumLock turned off on layout switch

2014-04-26 Thread Diego Schulz
I also experience this issue after a clean 14.04 installation. Layout
keeps switching all the time. It's incredibly annoying and infuriating.

My preferred keyboard layout is US International with dead keys (or
something like that, my environment is currently set to Spanish).

I need this keyboard layout for many reasons, the first and most obvious
being that my laptop came with a English layout keyboard, not Spanish.
Second is that I often need to type áéíóúñõãũ etcetera. Third, I don't
want to switch layouts all the time, so US International with dead
keys is a perfect fit for me.

The problem is that I find myself frequently (read: many times a day)
messing around with keyboard layout settings because the system keeps
forgetting and instead changes to plain English layout and for some very
stupid reason, disabling num lock. Also, when this obnoxious unsolicited
gratuitous layout switch happens, I no longer can type some characters
(quotation marks (), apostrophes ('), accents ('`)) in applications
written in Java/Swing.

I can say for sure, but I think one of the things that triggers the
switching is suspend/resume cycles.

[Bug 1214530] [NEW] High CPU and memory in Nautilus (with RabbitCVS)

2013-08-20 Thread Diego Jancic
Public bug reported:

Nautilis is consumming lots of memory and CPU when navigating a versioned
directory (using RabbitCVS). The memory grows indefinetely and the only way to
cool it down is by killing the process and restarting it.
It started happening only after I updated Ubuntu today and did the required

[Bug 1094744] Re: MS Sculpt Touch Mouse needs to be re-paired periodically

2013-07-07 Thread Diego Carrera Gallego
Thank @Anthony, but i got a similar solution based on your
recomendation and recomendation on
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/Multitouch/AppleMagicTrackpad

#some parts of this comment are based on
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/Multitouch/AppleMagicTrackpad

In a terminal:
1. Install input-tools, to determine the physical (model-specific) and unique
device IDs from the output of lsinput
  sudo apt-get install input-tools

2. Create /lib/bluetooth/physical_ID/pincodes as the root user (or
with sudo):

 # This folder *should* already exist, create it with 'sudo mkdir' if not.
 # You can use TAB to complete, if it's the only Bluetooth device on your
system:
 3. cd /lib/bluetooth/physical_ID

In my case, i wrote:
cd /lib/bluetooth/74:2F:68:CE:17:57 -- change for your physical_ID

 4. sudo gedit pincodes
5. Add this line to the new file, save, and exit:
 unique_ID

where physical_ID is a backslash-escaped physical device ID, like
D8\:30\:62\:38\:18\:02, and unique_ID is your device's unique ID, both
from the output of lsinput.

I applied it and works fine for me, on Ubuntu desktop 13.04 64 bits.

Same problem but in 12.04 it takes a long time to

a simply script from terminal it takes less time. Also the shortcut
Ctrl+Alt+Back closes the session inmediatly.

[Bug 873545] Re: After update Nautilus icons are black/white, no decorations of breadcrumb etc.

2011-10-21 Thread Diego
I have the same problem but I'm using the NVIDIA accelerated graphics
driver - post-release notes... has anybody else had the same problem and
fixed it?

Even with the right graphics driver, I still have the same error about
the display at startup.

[Bug 787119] Re: xscreensaver blocks guides in gimp

I can confirm this bug, affecting also the 64 bits version of xubuntu.
Gimp also unlocks when workspace is switched and back again, yet no guides are
there when returning to gimp's workspace.

[Bug 761974] [NEW] menu bar at unity, but original space space it's still there, vertical offset

2011-04-15 Thread Diego Algara
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

When I open Evolution maximized, the menu bar goes to the unity task
bar, as supposed, but the space of the original menu bar attached at the
window it's still present, so the window now has a vertical gap on top,
and the pointer position is shifted as if there was no gap, so clicking
at one mail will actually click a lower mail on the list, clicking the
last mail would click something at the message window, like the email
address of the sender, making it very annoying.

Regards!

[Bug 592859] Re: New Message Notifications in Empathy are not Attention-Grabbing Enough

2011-01-11 Thread Diego
I have the same problem so I will confirm the bug.
As a workaround, I normally use emesene for my msn account as that is the one I
use the most, and I use empathy for facebook and google chat.

I like emesene because it's almost impossible to miss a message. The
icon flahes in the notification area, and on my awn dock it also flashes
every 30 seconds or so.

[Bug 672906] Re: IPOD SHUFFLE SUPPORT BROKEN

2010-12-23 Thread Diego
I confirm I have the same problem.

I think this could be a kernel bug (or something like SCSI emulation
for USB Mass Storage devices) because neither Banshee or Exaile are
able to manage the ipod.

On a computer running Lucid everything works fine. When I connect my
ipod to another computer running Maverick the ipod seems to be empty and
Rhythmbox crashes when I simply try to see the properties.

I hope the attachments are complete and useful to solve the problem.
- the log messages appeared when I connect the ipod to Lucid;
- the log messages appeared when I connect the ipod to Maverick;
- the Rhythmbox debug messages
