[Bug 1979096] Re: gnome-shell search can't launch apps if dock auto-hide is enabled
I have tested 72~ubuntu5.22.04.2.1 and found it to be working, with 200% scaling, and auto-hide, and dock position left. The issue appears to be resolved for me. ** Tags removed: verification-needed-jammy ** Tags added: verification-done-jammy -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1979096 Title: gnome-shell search can't launch apps if dock auto-hide is enabled To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/dash-to-dock/+bug/1979096/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1979096] Re: gnome-shell search can't launch apps if dock auto-hide is enabled
I manually installed the 74ubuntu2 release on my Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS system, and this release does not appear to fix the issue. I can also confirm that Merci's description of the requirements to trigger the bug also affect me in the same way. However, doing some additional checking, I can expand this to: - Scaling greater than or equal to 200% (fractional or non-fractional) - Dock set to auto-hide - Dock position is "left" - All other dock options have no impact A scale of 175% does not activate the bug, only 200 and greater. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1979096 Title: gnome-shell search can't launch apps if dock auto-hide is enabled To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/dash-to-dock/+bug/1979096/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1979096] Re: gnome-shell search can't launch apps if dock auto-hide is enabled
Auto-hide was enabled at the time, and I did replicate the issue. Other than trimming the repeated instances of "Timelines with detached actors are not supported." that is the full log for the session, which started from a cold boot. If that error's not relevant, then I don't have any more information to provide you from that log. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1979096 Title: gnome-shell search can't launch apps if dock auto-hide is enabled To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1979096/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1971126] Re: unable to click on application search results
I was able to confirm that this appears to be the same issue. When I disable the auto-hide function, I am able to start programs from the search as expected. As is hinted at in the bug on the other video, the icons are draggable from their position, so some level of mouse interaction is possible, just not clicking them. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1971126 Title: unable to click on application search results To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1971126/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1971126] Re: unable to click on application search results
Running the app "Extensions" shows three enabled extensions: Desktop Icons NG (DING) Ubuntu AppIndicators Ubuntu Dock These all appear to be dependencies of ubuntu-desktop-minimal so I would assume they are the standard configuration. [Bug 1971126] Re: unable to click on application search results
To test this hypothesis I created a brand new user on the system, and checked the behaviour of the activities search under that user. For the new user, the search works as expected. [Bug 1971126] Re: unable to click on application search results
Further context that might be of use: This machine was upgraded from 20.04 LTS via do-release-upgrade -d a few days after the stable release of 22.04 LTS. When it was running 20.04 LTS, I was using the vanilla Gnome 3 shell package, which was still installed at the point of upgrade. Could it be the result of a configuration issue left behind by my pre- upgrade usage? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1971126 Title: unable to click on application search results To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1971126/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1971126] [NEW] unable to click on application search results
Public bug reported: When searching for applications under the Activities section, application results appear but cannot be clicked on to start them. Attempting to use the arrow keys to navigate between the results also doesn't work. However, if the enter key is pressed, the first result will load. Other types of results can be clicked on to open them, such as folder results in Files. This appears to be a regression from previous versions. [Bug 532844] Re: Lucid: White symbols on light panel and Ubuntu Logo are difficult to see
The correct package for this bug is ubuntu-mono, as this is where the icons for the login screen actually reside at the moment. I have attached a suggestion for replacement icons which are the existing icons recoloured using the same dark grey colour from the Radiance theme icons. Note that if you decide to install these icons manually, you'll have to remove /usr/share/icons/LoginIcons/icon-theme.cache or you will continue to see white icons on the login screen. ** Attachment added: LoginIcons.tar.gz http://launchpadlibrarian.net/42273770/LoginIcons.tar.gz -- Lucid: White symbols on light panel and Ubuntu Logo are difficult to see https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/532844 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
