Seprentine 0.9-0ubuntu1 is out. It seems to include the upstream fix for
this bug, and it indeed fixes the problem for me as far as I can see.
I propose to mark this bug as Fix released.

Not the original reporter, but I can confirm that this still affects me
on latest gutsy (upgraded from feisty, no fresh install).
As a temporary workaround, I found that I can manually lock the screen
and still hibernate through the Stand-by key on my keyboard.
Can't tell anything about suspend,
I have the same settings as above. I will override
use_screensaver_settings now.
I'd expect the use_screensaver_settings to default to false, since I'm
usually around when my PC is on screensaver, but I'm not around when my
PC is in hibernation, but that's just my personal opinion of course.
