[Bug 1903764] Re: [SRU] Update gnome-shell to 3.36.7 in Focal
Ah right, yes. I agree. Such a long list of extensions really should be expected to be broken already as extensions often are. I don't think it's sensible to block on those. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1903764 Title: [SRU] Update gnome-shell to 3.36.7 in Focal To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1903764/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1903764] Re: [SRU] Update gnome-shell to 3.36.7 in Focal
I meant that my reply to comment #3 that those broken extensions should not be considered as regressions with gnome-shell 3.36.7 because they are already broken from the beginning. All of those extensions are already up-to-date upstream and in Debian. It’s that Ubuntu is always ahead of Debian in GNOME releases when an Ubuntu release is about to happen and the Debian sync freeze is in effect. I explained that here: https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/scope-of- gnome-mru/18041/24?u=amr-ibrahim -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1903764 Title: [SRU] Update gnome-shell to 3.36.7 in Focal To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1903764/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1903764] Re: [SRU] Update gnome-shell to 3.36.7 in Focal
We don't maintain those extensions directly. Really it's up to the authors of the extensions to keep them up to date upstream. And in the Ubuntu archive it's up to anyone interested to update them, using the SRU process: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1903764 Title: [SRU] Update gnome-shell to 3.36.7 in Focal To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1903764/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1903764] Re: [SRU] Update gnome-shell to 3.36.7 in Focal
The gse list contains some extensions that have already been broken since Focal release in April 2020. Theses are the ones that I know: gnome-shell-extension-weather → LP: #1873661, LP: #1835706 gnome-shell-extension-onboard → got removed in Debian on 2020-01-09 because of incompatibility with recent versions of gnome-shell (https://tracker.debian.org/news/1092762/accepted-onboard-141-5-source- into-unstable/) gnome-shell-extension-multi-monitors → LP: #1873789 gnome-shell-extension-gsconnect(-browsers) → very broken, only supports GNOME 3.30, Ubuntu-specific, hasn't been updated since 2019-01-08 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1903764 Title: [SRU] Update gnome-shell to 3.36.7 in Focal To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1903764/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
