installing the new seahorse package + reboot + unlocking keyring gives the ability to change keyring password. At next reboot, no prompt for unlocking keyring anymore. The new interface was introduced in 9b12bfdd245867f928651bc5414cba67a3f84169, but it doesn't revert -- not even close. on every login since upgrading from 12.04 to 12.10 , I now have to enter my login password again after logging in to open the keyring.
