[Bug 1315705] Re: [Acer Aspire 5750-9668] touchpad doesn't scroll with one finger on extreme right in GNOME Flashback (Metacity)
This is more of an enhancement needed rather than a bug. So how do we go about doing it. PS: Would someone be kind enough to tell me which are the files responsible for drawing the System Settings > Mouse and Touchpad pages. The fix should be done there I think. [Bug 1315705] Re: [Acer Aspire 5750-9668] touchpad doesn't scroll with one finger on extreme right in GNOME Flashback (Metacity)
I think a workaround is to use xinput. xinput # Note down your touchpad device id xinput set-prop device_id SynapticsEdgeScrolling 1 1 1 # the default is 0 0 0 Read more about it here... http://www.x.org/archive/X11R7.5/doc/man/man4/synaptics.4.html So maybe we need to add a GUI component to the control centre to toggle this. And while we are at it, we should try to integrate as many settings from the synaptic drivers as possible. A lot of people are put off by being unable to configure their trackpads. PS: I am new here. Actually my first comment and appearance here. (I just made an exclusively for this issue) I was hoping if someone would be kind enough to tell me the file which may need to be modified for the fix. Alberts Muktupāvels, fair enough. Feel free to change it to the appropriate package that would be the root cause of this problem while using gnome-session-fallback / gnome-session-flashback (not Unity), as these and their dependencies are all Ubuntu supported packages. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-panel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1315705 Title: [Acer Aspire 5750-9668] touchpad doesn't scroll with one finger on extreme right in GNOME Flashback (Metacity) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-panel/+bug/1315705/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1315705] Re: [Acer Aspire 5750-9668] touchpad doesn't scroll with one finger on extreme right in GNOME Flashback (Metacity)
Why do you think that this is bug with gnome-panel? GNOME Panel does not know anything about touchpad nor any other device you are using. This is most likely bug with gnome-settings-daemon and/or gnome-control- center. But ubuntu at least for now are using unity-settings-daemon and unity-control-center.

This should be configurable via unity-control-center, is it not?
