[Bug 1571540] Re: Moving files nautilus extremely slow
I am seeing it was fixed recently but Nautilus is still copying files very slowly from SSD to SSD on a two-channel PCI-e system (although admittedly, one side is using the SATA adapter) with 16GB DDR3, most of it available. It's only using 0.9GB. Regardless wire-to-wire I should never get these speeds. It's annoying. Is that the same issue? How do I get the fix? It seems that they fixed the bug. I just moved 450 images from one folder to another and it was really fast. Not sure what happened or whoever did the magic, but the problem is gone on Ubuntu 16.04, somewhere between the end of August and the first two weeks of September. Moving images are as fast as it used to be (and should be). I tested moving 1,000+ JPG files several times and it happened instantly. It used to show "Preparing to move files ..." for a few minutes, even with just 100 image files. Anyway, would be great if a dev can drop an explanation. My laptop transfer file within ssd drive the transfers rate is 23.6 kB/sec.
