[Bug 1821019] Re: gnome-terminal does not gain focus upon launch via clicking icon

2019-03-27 Thread Will Cooke
This seems to be a different bug to the "windows open at the bottom of
the stack one". Tested by opening a Firefox window and then opening
terminal via the dock. The terminal window opened on the top, but
without focus.

[Bug 1821019] Re: gnome-terminal does not gain focus upon launch

2019-03-27 Thread Brian Curtis
Updated description and title to add M_M comments as I can confirm them
as well.

** Description changed:

Ubuntu 19.04, 64 bit machine, nvidia graphics drivers

- Upon first and subsequent launches of gnome-terminal the window shows
- but does not immediately gain focus to start typing in commands.
+ Upon first and subsequent launches of gnome-terminal via clicking the
+ icon, the window shows but does not immediately gain focus to start
+ typing in commands.
+
+ Using Ctrl+alt+T launches the terminal the way I expect, with immediate
+ focus to start typing commands.

I expect it to immediately gain focus to type commands upon launch each
- and every time.
+ and every time using both methods.

[Bug 1821019] Re: gnome-terminal does not gain focus upon launch

2019-03-27 Thread M_M
It also happens to me that the terminal window does not get the focus
when I launch gnome-terminal by clicking on the terminal icon, but if I
use the key combination [Ctrl]+[Alt]+T , then the terminal window takes
focus and the terminal cursor blinks.
