[Bug 1821019] Re: gnome-terminal does not gain focus upon launch via clicking icon
This seems to be a different bug to the "windows open at the bottom of the stack one". Tested by opening a Firefox window and then opening terminal via the dock. The terminal window opened on the top, but without focus. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-terminal in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1821019 Title: gnome-terminal does not gain focus upon launch via clicking icon To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-terminal/+bug/1821019/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1821019] Re: gnome-terminal does not gain focus upon launch
Updated description and title to add M_M comments as I can confirm them as well. ** Description changed: Ubuntu 19.04, 64 bit machine, nvidia graphics drivers - Upon first and subsequent launches of gnome-terminal the window shows - but does not immediately gain focus to start typing in commands. + Upon first and subsequent launches of gnome-terminal via clicking the + icon, the window shows but does not immediately gain focus to start + typing in commands. + + Using Ctrl+alt+T launches the terminal the way I expect, with immediate + focus to start typing commands. I expect it to immediately gain focus to type commands upon launch each - and every time. + and every time using both methods. [Bug 1821019] Re: gnome-terminal does not gain focus upon launch
It also happens to me that the terminal window does not get the focus when I launch gnome-terminal by clicking on the terminal icon, but if I use the key combination [Ctrl]+[Alt]+T , then the terminal window takes focus and the terminal cursor blinks. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-terminal in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1821019 Title: gnome-terminal does not gain focus upon launch To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-terminal/+bug/1821019/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
