I'm on Debian Buster, seeing the same behaviour (i.e. long timeout before being
shown the login screen in GDM3). Before the upgrade from Stretch all worked as
expected.
Uninstalling fprintd and libpam-fprintd solves the issue. But I like to have
the fingerprint reader working ;-) This is on a Le

Unlocking the screen takes a long time afte
I experience the same problem on my xps9360 (without fingerprint reader)
after a clean install of ubuntu 19.10. I never experienced this problem
on 18.04 and the earlier ubuntu versions I ran on this laptop. The delay
is ~ 15-20 seconds and there are error messages in the Journactl log:
