oh okay. I actually updated from ubuntu 18.04 to 19.04 in the expectation that the bug disappears. I do not have enough time now for trying to figure out this issue due to some academic deadline. But I will follow the steps as soon as the bug happens again in version 19.04 though. Thank you very

OK I missed some steps there sorry... The command: apport-cli --hanging -P PID will give you a link to help you complete creation of a new bug. You then need to follow that link, on any machine. Don't send us that link. After you have created a new bug, please tell us its ID. If that didn't

Hello Daniel, thank you for the help. The freezing has just happened again, I enter tty, used the command ps -A | grep gnome , and I believe that the ID is the gnome-shell associated to the tty2 because ctrl+alt+f2 is my interface shortcut. I ran the apport command and with the ID and it give

Next time the problem happens, log into a tty and find the PID of the frozen gnome-shell process. Then run: apport-cli --hanging -P PID where PID is the process ID of the frozen gnome-shell process (which is the one running as your own user ID, not gdm). That should create a new bug/crash
