I've updated form gutsy and it not lost the icon conifiguration, but when I right click an icon on the desktop and select Properties, I used to be able to click the icon (it was a button) and be able to select custom icon for the folder or launcher. I can confirm this w/ Nautilus 2.21.6 on Hardy. This effects desktop files as well. Right click on either a folder or desktop file and select properties. The icon in the properties window is no longer clickable, as shown in the above users post.
