Setting the status of this bug back to confirmed. The problem is that upgrade-manager -d unintentionally switched our configurations to launch various programs in-place of nautilus. I also do not believe that the package 'gnome-panel' is necessarily at fault, but don't have a clue where the root

I don't remember doing such thing but taking a look to any folder properties shows me that gthum is selected as the default application to open it. Changing it back to nautilus fixes the problem. If I'm the only one seeing this behaviour, I guess I did such change by mistake... ** Changed in:
