The bug in 10.04-LTS at least is most noticeable in two screen mode for me. It seems to be when the screen used for full-screen mode is below another screen, so the mouse slips between the two screens and very rarely (aarrggh!) hits the right spot. For the record, I have 1920x1200 above a 1200x800. ps An easy fix might be to have a (configurable) hot key which can be for the fullscreen toggle only, in addition to the existing option which enables all ht keys. Hello. I'm unable to reproduce this bug neither in Maverick nor in Natty. Can you confirm that this bug is still present?
