I also can confirm that this is still an issue in natty. Besides the
fact that several settings dialogs are too high to fit on the screen -
making it rather hard to hit the buttons on the bottom (requires

This seems as a close resemblence to a problem occuring in Natty-release
as well. Cannot check tick-boxes or type in in the different fields
because of automatic re-alignment on the screen. Seems as a new feature
in Natty to accomodate bigger resolution apps on smaller screen
resolutions.

This bug affects me to. On two computers.
The first computer is a netbook with 1024x600 resolution. In Ubuntu 10.10
desktop this gets so bad I can't use evolution at all. If I maximize the
window, every time I try to click on something the entire window jumps a big
step. And if I unmaximize it

I also encountered this bug with Maverick using Evolution 2.30.3
(English version). Also on an Acer Aspire One, mine has an 8.9 inch
screen using 1024x600 resolution. Kaizer's workaround to disable the
buttons did the trick for me, thanks.

I think this is due to the switcher buttons. I am using 10.10/Maverick
on Acer AspireOne and found this workaround -
Click on View -> Switcher Appearance. Disable "Show Buttons". The window
will stop jumping :)
You can use the Alt-V, S, B, B combination if your window is
already jumping and you
I'm having this problem on a Maverick install in English. It seems to
occur whenever a window stretches past the available space on the
netbook. (e.g. calendar, some config windows)

I did some experiment by using different translations for the Calendar
Toolbar, in particular for the long "Work week" that turns into "Semaine
de travail" in French and it solves the issue. So my conclusion is that
it is the fact that the toolbar extends beyond the displayable area that

Just a note that I installed evo 2.30 from jacob/evo230 ppa and the
problem was also there

It's probably worth noting that I also use the Toobar and in French it
doesn't fit and extends beyond the displayable area. If I could, I would
make some changes to the French version, to cut down the Work Week from
"Semaine de travail" to something smaller and check if it still does it.

Problem still exists in 10.4 Lucid.
When in French, after going from Mail to Calendar, the window looses its
original maximized state and can't be reset properly.

I just tried to reproduce the problem in Spanish but it works fine in

It must be a French translation issue somehow!

Hi Pedro,
As I tried to reproduce the issue in running an English session to make
sure I use terms that you recognize, I found out it doesn't occur! I
only have the problem running a French session. So I suspect the
translation has an impact.
Here are the steps to reproduce anyways:
1) Start evo
i cannot reproduce that here, may you give some easy steps in order to ?
