[Bug 664449] Re: Tasks component of evolution not accessible in maverick UNE
There are 2 alternatives what to do: 1. make the evolution appear normal. this can be done by editing /usr/share/applications/evolution.desktop. Change the Exec=evolution %U line to Exec=evolution (my understanding the %U adds the --express switch) and then re-login. Problem with this approach is that on small netbook displays the full version doesn't work very well. Another problem is that it is sort of visually unstable. after a few switches between the mail, calendar, tasks and memos the section where normally menu is located gets lost and the whole image shifts downwards so that the botom status line gets cropped from the screen. another approach which worked better for me was to do the following 1. sudo cp /usr/share/applications/evolution-mail.desktop /usr/share/applications/evolution-tasks.desktop 2. sudo cp /usr/share/applications/evolution-mail.desktop /usr/share/applications/evolution-memos.desktop 3. edit the files, change the first four lines to: Name=Evolution Tasks Comment=Manage tasks Exec=evolution --component=tasks --express Icon=evolution-tasks (and similarly for evolution-memos.desktop) 4. relogin, find the new applications in the app finder and put them to the sidebar. hope this helps -- Tasks component of evolution not accessible in maverick UNE https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/664449 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 664449] Re: Tasks component of evolution not accessible in maverick UNE
This seem to be related to the „--express” option. If you run evolution from console without that the buttons it the sidebar to switch to calendar etc are there, but then evolition fails to go to fullscreen without messing up the. ** Attachment added: Evolution without --express after going max. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/664449/+attachment/1710085/+files/Bildschirmfoto-1.png -- Tasks component of evolution not accessible in maverick UNE https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/664449 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
