I had a similar problem with empathy after upgrading to 11.04, mine was a little worse. Empathy could not connect to Gtalk at all using the supplied defaults for Google. [x] Use old SSL Though, I want to EMPHASIZE, that I can connect to gtalk with the default settings after fresh boot up, only after sleeping and waking up it stops working.
