[Bug 947281] Re: Lock Screen should directly turn off backlight without waiting ...
Actually, I noticed that the normal screen saver (activated by the OS after no activity for a certain time, not manually activated using e.g. `gnome-screensaver-command -a` or `xset dpms force off`) successfully turns off keyboard backlight and additional lights (e.g. the Apple logo light on the back of Macbooks). Maybe it would be enough to make the lock screen command activate the screen saver in the same manner the OS activates it after a certain amount of non-activity. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-screensaver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/947281 Title: Lock Screen should directly turn off backlight without waiting ... I would also like to see the keyboard backlight and any additional lights turned off. BTW, this problem is also discussed in this question: http://askubuntu.com/questions/248972/how-can-i-disable-backlight-when-i -lock-the-screen it would be nice if it was like that by default, without having to manually set commands to execute when locking the screen. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-screensaver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/947281 Title: Lock Screen should directly turn off backlight without waiting ... I think this is already the default behaviour for 12.04. [Bug 947281] Re: Lock Screen should directly turn off backlight without waiting ...
Well, the screensaver is managed by gnome-screensaver, not indicator- session. So, I guess there's no point of the Ayatana-design tag. But I'll leave it there, in case a designer has a point against this. ** Also affects: gnome-screensaver (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: indicator-session Status: New = Invalid ** Changed in: indicator-session (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid ** Changed in: gnome-screensaver (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Wishlist -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-screensaver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/947281 Title: Lock Screen should directly turn off backlight without waiting ...
