There are sometimes errors with gtk3 i.e. with gnome-tweak-tool
windows dialog. The reported observation is not or no more reproducible
by me.
Sometimes i simply miss the scrollbars when using gtk3 overlay
scrollbars and a non standard theme. I uninstalled overlay-scrollbar
and now find
The layout is changed by going to the Settings Preferences menu. The scores
panel at the end shows the scores for each layout (but doesn't change the

Indeed, the same bug affects chromium-browser. It's a bit of a bother,
I end up abandoning the launcher for many apps because it will bring me
back to the workspace where the app has another window.
The workaround is to launch a terminal where I already have one, via
(sleep 2; gnome-terminal),
The microphone mute key yields Linux key input event KEY_MICMUTE which
has the value 248. Add 8 to get the X KeyCode number, you get 256.
This is greater than the maximum KeyCode that X handles, 255.

Hi Daniel,
I'm using 11.10 with an ATI card (Radeon HD 3650) and I'm having this issue.
I installed the fix from your ppa, but no luck.
Basically, the launcher is always on the left screen (as specified by xrandr)
and the --primary flag (this is my way of defining the primary monitor) of
it shift to the bottom and not to the right like the OP

Essentially, the problem is that during login the screen resolution is
resized but the screen isn't cleared; gnome-settings-daemon (or
*possibly the GPU) just fills the undefined space with snippets from the

lots of gtk errors in non ubuntu sessions

In a new installation of Ubuntu there are incosistencies in the text
used to describe when a user enters their password incorrectly. The ones
I have found are:
Logging in from boot:
Invalid password, please try again
Unlocking your computer:
Incorrect password
running nautilus --quit followed by DESKTOP_SESSION=ubuntu nautilus on
a command line should work
