to flash (I'm guessing) I've been able to change my volume during
fullscreen playback. Tested on both my laptop and desktop.

I might have found a reliable workaround: Delaying the loading of the
gnome-panel.
I've been running this for two days now (and have restarted over 20
times in addition for testing) and I haven't seen the problem any more.
Granted, this bug is really a pisser-offer that I can see hiding

problem is completely and utterly gone for me. Has anyone else tried
this workaround (or found a better way to perform it)? delaying the
panels for merely three seconds (three being arbitrary; I never tried
two or even one)
For me the issue is slightly fixed:

In Jaunty when I unmounted a usb drive through Gnome, a dialog popped up
asking me if I would like to empty the trash of this device.
In Karmic, I don't see this dialog anymore, and as a result I ended up

This problem does in fact exist in Jaunty for me. Here are steps to
reproduce for me:
I have two windows, both showing. I minimize them with the applet.
Afterwards, I bring one of the windows up, leaving the other minimized.
If I click on the minimize button again, it will un-minimize all windows
I just switched from Compiz to Metacity.
The behavior works as it should with Metacity. This is a Compiz bug.
Is someone using Compiz on Karmic, or the recently released version
0.8.4? Can someone confirm if it still exists?

I am assuming that this report has been opened because the user wants
totem to be able to delete the recently used files history. The
integration is rather poor at the moment, making one unintuitively go to
Places and delete the history there.
I have searched for other reports that claim that
This behavior has affected a Jaunty machine.
It has an ATI card with the Open-source drivers.
Compiz is activated, and Unredirect Windows is unticked.
The symptoms described in the bug report are exactly what happens.
I've attached a log.

As far as upstream is concerned, they don't want it like that. The
report is set to wontfix. I'm just setting the top to invalid and I'll
leave the wishlist one open.
