Me too , Ubuntu 10.10 with Glade Geany Gedit and my own program (PyGtk : gtk.FileChooserDialog). I just noticed this problem today. Same problem here. Experienced with Firefox and Chromium. It happens from time to time and persists throughout the session. If it happens it is there in the save as well as in the open dialogue.
