[Bug 880952] Re: Evince prints gdk critical failings on console output

2019-07-25 Thread Paul White
We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all
reported bugs in a timely manner. This bug was reported some time ago
and there have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time.

Ubuntu 11.10 (oneiric) reached end-of-life on May 9, 2013.

Does anyone still see a problem related to the one that was reported
when using a currently supported version of Ubuntu? Please let us know
if you do otherwise this report can be left to expire in approximately
60 days time.

Thank you for helping make Ubuntu better.

[Bug 880952] Re: Evince prints gdk critical failings on console output

2011-12-13 Thread Patricio Clark
I found a workaround in case anyone's interested. By redirecting stderr to a
file.
It would be something like: gnome-open myfile.pdf 2 FileWithAllTheWarnings
rm FileWithAllTheWarnings

Doesn't fix the problem, but at least you can now open pdf files from
the terminal without getting all those warnings. Hope it helps.

[Bug 880952] Re: Evince prints gdk critical failings on console output

2011-11-16 Thread Povl Abrahamsen
The error messages seem to come from a call to gtk_widget_set_sensitive
in the callback function ev_sidebar_document_changed_cb - on line 518 of
shell/ev-sidebar.c, when it is called after a new document is loaded:

gtk_widget_set_sensitive (GTK_WIDGET (sidebar-priv-notebook), TRUE);

I'm afraid someone with more knowledge of GTK will have to look into why
setting the notebook to be sensitive triggers these error messages.
