I'd prefer tar-ustar over tar-pax. When I tried to use tar-pax once
(admittedly a long time ago) I got a bug report, and so switched to

Hi;
-1 from me; I don't see any advantage here.
With the current scheme, we have po/LINGUAS which is disted
automagically. With your scheme, we need po/LINGUAS.ignore (which you
have to dist manually).
Also, if you add a new po/xx.po file, configure isn't re-run
automatically so the new entry i

Hi;
I think we should provide a more in-depth guide on how to write schemas
for gsettings, convering e.g.:
- schema names: tld.foo.FooApp vs. tld.foo.foo-app vs ...
- paths: /tld/foo/foo-app/ vs /apps/foo-app/ vs ...
- what key names to use
- how the and should differ and what they

Hi;
I think we should use the opportunity of converting to gsettings to
redesign the desktop schemas, not just do a 1:1 translation from gconf.
Let me make some remarks about the gsettings desktop schemas as
they right now are in gsettings-desktop-schemas module.

Hi;
recently more projects have been switching from libglade to gtkbuilder,
converting existing .glade files to .ui with gtk-builder-convert, and
then svn removing the .glade files from svn.
However, glade-3 is still not working on all features in the gtkbuilder
format (e.g. nautilus' and gnome-t

I'd just like to point out that gecko is _not_ multi-head safe. So any
single-instance application that uses gecko will need one instance _per

to use it on more than one screen at a time since you cannot share the

Hi,
The latest gnome-icon-theme release has removed the "gnome-spinner" and
"gnome-spinner-rest" themed icons, causing breakage in (at least)
epiphany, nautilus, gedit and beagle. Other people have told me that
other removed icons also cause problems in nautilus and deskbar-applet.

Hi,
libgnome's gnome_program_init now supports GOption argument parsing. The
gnome modules supply their GOptionGroup*'s via a hook func in the
GnomeModuleInfo struct. The question in

ABI-compatibly use a function pointer of typ

this file?"

"Overwrite file %s?"
