All the above issues involve 10.04 but I'm running 10.10 from a 2G SDHC
card (Kingston, if it matters) it began showing the posted msg after I
used GParted to try to re-partition my 2 SSDs AFTER I had already

Looks like the problem is automatic monitor detection, not inability to
manually configure refresh rate. Oneric does fine with auto-detection.

this software better. This particular crash has already been reported
and is a duplicate of bug #912909, so is being marked as such.
Hmm probably not ati drivers problem, but happens only for some ATI
users. :/ Very annoying
