I too have this problem, after login I see blank screen with my
walpaper, ubuntu one notifications(not the icon) are also displayed, and
cuttle fish loaded. When I inserted a audio CD, music player is poped
up. So only thing iam missing is unity interface. My graphics card is

that is truncated.
The same goes for printing from libreoffice writer, as well as from evince, and
even if print preview is correct.
This can be circumvented in writer by setting printing language type
Reboot did not solve it, I decided to remove my Rhythmbox database and
settings from ~/.share/local/rhythmbox.
Now it works again but I lost my playlists in the process. A well, it's
still the best Mediaplayer for me ;-)
