The first error message appears 50 seconds after graphical login. Then,
error messages appear every few minutes.
The problem occurs only when logged as a main user (user which is able
to make sudo and gain admin/root privileges). The problem does _not_

On the clean install:-
1) From the desktop, no Unity / task bar, ctrl/alt/f1 to login and install
gnome-panel synaptic. Would not let me install fglrx as part of another
package
2) Restarted lightdm in gnome-panel.
3) Using synaptic, installed all updates, which included a refresh of
[Expired for libreoffice (Ubuntu) because there has been no activity for
60 days.]
