Mouse cursor works when frozen.
Actually, it looks like psensor does hang until the system starts to come back.
It does show a spike (of unknown amplitude) in CPU usage (tenfold) and CPU
temperature and there is an audible increase in fan speed. Top/gnome-terminal
also freezes.

Is still a valid way to fix this issue if you someone still bumps into
it. I had this now on openSUSE Tumbleweed (using GNOME) where I

Yes, the string "jouw maar" is what was inserted randomly.
At the time I noticed, I was composing an email in Thunderbird, but
after that I also noticed a random insertion (of some other string) in
Gedit.
Whether the strin inquestion was on the clipboard, I do not know, but

I have similar problem on Ubuntu 18.04.5 (standard GNOME environment) I
can open new windows and my cursor is not busy. I have only problem when
