since other people have reported the same issue stating the revert of
the two commits solved the freeze issue. There are no GPU hangs in the

driver until the weekend (since I use this laptop) and then switched to
the nVidia binary drivers because I wanted to use CUDA for some

As for "overview was very laggy", this is the first I've heard of any
regressions from the proposed packages. We definitely want to get to the
bottom of that so when you have time please open a new bug about it and
mention:

* What GPU(s) and
