I'm guessing the HDMI port is connected to the Nvidia GPU, it usually is
on a hybrid laptop. And I'm seeing that you don't have a proper driver
for the Nvidia GPU installed. Please open the 'Additional Drivers' app
to install a supported Nvidia driver.

Thanks for the revised patch. However, it needs to be based on top of
the version currently in -proposed. The archive can't overwrite a
version that's already published, which is basically whenever its
sources hit the -proposed pocket (that happened when Steve accepted the
SRU back in #21
I had the same problem, and my computer graphics felt slow (i.e the side bar
opening animation).
I had fixed this by messing with the nvidia drivers, using prime-select to
select nvidia, etc.
However after update plus restart, this started to happen again.
I noticed gnome-shell always at 30% mor

GPU hangs
In order to test if the system MESA has the fix while the Chromium snaps
does not, I unpacked it and ran the Chromium binary against system
libraries.
The GPU hang doesn't reproduce, suggesting the MESA libraries included
in the Snaps is outdated and should be updated to eg
23.0.4-0ubuntu1~23.04.1

seconds, the SketchUp logo freezes for ~4 seconds, and we see a blank
page. The logs show the GPU hang and browser rendering context failed to
initialise.
