when using xfreerdp with Windows 10 and using the a screen capture tool on the
remote host (windows 10) xfreerdp consistently fails with BadLength X error.
I reported this also to xfreerdp, where it was designated as potential internal
error in X/Xlib.

Hi
I did a reboot with the tv set on and everything was working fine. But
then I turned off the tv set. It seems as if the gui hasn't noticed
that. I can drag windows out of the display screen to where the tv
screen is configured.

BTW: the upgrade to 14.04 was not smooth. It stalled and I had to issue
dpkg --configure all manually. Maybe the graphics driver thing is a
result of this.

Christopher, I've already done this. First of all, I tried Ubuntu. But this was
not very successful. It advanced up to the 'Ubuntu' writing. From there on, the
red dot hopped until I stopped the system. I let it hop for about 5 minutes.

Update (with some kind of solution):
What I have tried so far:
- Disabling KMS explicitly at grub prompt: no change
- Disabling vesafb: blank screen
- Disabling Plymouth: no change
Another thing I tried right now, was installing the AMD Catalyst 12.11
Beta 8 driver. So far (tested it with 6 or 7
Still haven't found a way to get rid of this blinking cursor.
It is not only the case with Unity(tested with Ubuntu 12.10 fresh
install), but also with xfce (tested with Xubuntu 12.10 fresh install,
fglrx install per apt-get install fglrx fglrx-amdcccle, all updates
installed).

This glitch occurs since the upgrade to Ubuntu 11.10 with GIMP 2.6.11.
What I tried (and none of the approaches changed anything):
- uninstalling Compiz
- running x
If I type this command:
xrandr --output LVDS --off
the same thing happens like using gnome-display-properties, which means
different colours (test screen like).
