I tested lightdm-gtk-greeter instead of unity-greeter. In
/etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf my system now has:
greeter-session=lightdm-gtk-greeter
With this change the slowness is now gone. Therefore this bug seems to
be in unity-greeter.

I tried again with those package versions:
Package: nautilus
Version: 1:3.2.0-0ubuntu5
Package: ubuntuone-client-gnome
Version: 2.0.1-0ubuntu2
The first time I started nautilus from a terminal, no error messages
were displayed. However, the second time error messages were still
displayed.
