The workaround mentioned in comment #33 does not work all the time for
me: the problem reappeared after a few days.

I am having the same problem. What helped me have back Internet access
was to bring up the interfaces and running dhclient from the command
line:
sudo ifconfig eth0 up

Replace eth0 with the interface you want to use.

I think the fact that Evolution clears the password without interacting with
the user is a bug on its own.
All the workarounds are temporary and do not solve the problem.
Evolution seems to have problems dealing with basic connectivity issues:
connection drops, mail server temporary down
The problem is not solved... it renders Evolution useless

This bug is really old in Evolution and extremely annoying. I hope they
don't make it as low importance...

Hi! I know this is an old bug report... but the problem is still there.
The software center has a mixed behavior when a theme is used in the desktop
(for example gnomish dark).
** Attachment added: Picture 1 of the problem
Public bug reported:
Firefox should override web pages settings for text box or anything that
involves the user typing text.
Ideally it should use the theme's settings *everywhere*, and avoid situations
like a white font on white background or black font on black or dark
backgrounds.

I forgot to mention the theme I have installed is GnomishDark and not
only the text boxes are a problem, sometimes other places are
problematic too: like trying to attach a file to a bug report in this
very same web page. The space where the text of the attached file should
be shown is white:
This bug seems to be affecting Precise too...
