In my assessment, there is almost certainly at least an interoperability
issue with Chromium, if it displays markedly different content than
multiple other implementations (and the other implementations are
consistent between them).

Chromium-browser now incorrectly displays amounts in form fields that
should be blank, in a file concatenated by PDFShuffler, from filled-in
PDF forms saved from evince. Unsure whether the incompatibility arises
from Evince, PDFShuffler, or Chromium. Note that on the file with the
one form only
Today I was able to look at the software on the computer at the copy-and-print
shop where I had printed my tax returns in April.
Foxit works correctly.
Adobe Reader incorrectly shows some form fields blank, as I was able to
reproduce with non-confidential data.

Good to see that it is fixed in Ubuntu-16.04-LTS.
Unfortunately, when I had tried to upgrade to 16.04, the kernel did not work
with my i915 video card (I can search to see if there is any updated info about
that).
For bug of High importance, would have liked to see a fix for 14.04 as it is
LTS.
Okular is not an adequate workaround - after Save or Print, likewise the
fields are blue on black.
Acroread from partner repository is minimally functional, but does not
allow saving partially-filled form, does not integrate with CUPS enough
to offer the CUPS-PDF printer as a printer choice [note

Firefox PDF viewer: displays normally - form fields are blank, white or
clear background. This is the expected behavior.
Evince & xpdf: California tax form field backgrounds are black. Filling
@team-esr: Are you on the Mozilla Enterprise maillist? If not, I might
