actually accesses the idle monitor through the mutter dbus API. gnome-
session for the Presence module then in turn access the idle monitor via

fwiw, crash I mentioned in #5 has been fixed, in my MP and updated ppa
also.

i can still reproduce the bug in 14.04 with onboard 1.0.0. Unless i have
'force window to top' enabled in preferences opening the dash steals
focus from onboard and therefore makes it impossible to type in the dash
withput using the physical keyboard.

We have been trying to land this transition for about 9 months now (well
previously was 3.10, but that was largely the same). The big blocker was
the removal of xrandr and idlemonitor code out of gnome-desktop. Robert
Ancell has solved that issue see Bug 1372240
Thanks Iain! That should fix the most pressing issue.
I think it would still be good to rename that pc file to something else
though, ideally also indicating in the name that it's ubuntu-specific,
so app developers don't think it's upstream and then wonder why things
won't compile elsewhere.

As mentioned on irc, gnome-session update was blocked due to > 3.9.90 crashing
when running under gnome-desktop 3.8.
gnome-panel provides its own dialogs, however seems they are only used when
clicking through the system menu. I can revert the dialogs for now, but would
As Laney mentoned Shipping upower 0.99 only for GNOME would be a lot of
work. I have however managed to untangle the gnome-desktop transition
from upower, so we can now land that without upower 0.99, in which case
landing upower transition as soon a V opens should probably be ok.

My Linked branch is Jacksons merge with the disabled patches

There is one bug however, that seems to be a gtk theming issue that only
