I am working a lot with videos using a gstreamer based subtitle editor
called subtitleeditor (compiled from upstream, ubuntu's version is
horribly outdated) and it can play the videos, but with terrible
performace (lots of stuttering, sometimes it skips 30 frames or even

feature request, the specifications of anyone's machine are irelevant,
this does not work for anybody with synaptics (or any other if I am not
mistaken) touchpad. My problem and the original reporter's program are

Thanks Ryan, if you could also implement a toggle to use global menu
with maximized applications only, that would be great!
BTW: does the patch in its current form ever display window's title for
maximalized windows?

This is similar from the dash (rhythmbox open - dash plays a file,
otherwise it just opens rhythmbox). It seems rhythmbox-client is called
and it spawns rhythmbox but it does not wait enough to pass the file to
be played to the freshly started Rhythmbox. See bug 1201016 for details.
