I got it fixed after upgrading from 18.04 to 19.04, but it was not
upgrading that solved it. The issue is still there in 19.04.
The solution for me was disabling secure boot, purging the nvidia
drivers and then reïnstalling them.

Still happens here on a HP Pavilion. I have tried the intel onboard
video, the nvidia, with the nvidia drivers. If it's of hep the xrandr
output shows: HDMI-1 disconnected, so it is seen but not activated. When
booting in Windows all works fine...

I think you can close the report. I haven't had any issues with this
since then. I honestly forgot about it after all this time (I read 2011)
and I can't even remember how or when it got fixed.

I don't know if it is relevant, or related, but after adding new songs
to the directory containing my music, rhythmbox just doesn't work
anymore... grays out after a while... was thinking, maybe it can't
update the metadata, because of this bug... the error above did show up
regularly since ubuntu
I have a similar problem, right clicking shows a menu, but the menu's
are unresponsive. Clicking on the shown options doesn't do anything.
Running ubuntu 12.04, firefox 12. Running in KDE it works fine. I'm not
sure if it's the same issue, but it seems like it is.

to select a custom built Gimp as default to open the file with, by browsing to
the directory I built it in.
