maybe bug 1035932 and bug 1085079 share a common context? I've also
been affected by libvdpau_nvidia.so even though I do not have an NVIDIA
card.

I moved to quantal (Ubuntu 12.10) and the problem is gone.
Looks like it is fixed in the chromium version i.e. Version 22.0.1229.94 Ubuntu

Ubuntu 12.04 is still stuck in Chromium version 20.0.1132.47
precise-updates (web): Chromium browser [universe]
20.0.1132.47~r144678-0ubuntu0.12.04.1: amd64 i386
(see: http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=chromium)
So... I just added this Chromium Stable PPA and installed the new version
Same problem with my Ubuntu 12.04 as well. i.e. Chromium crashes very
frequently. This is 'confirmed' as a bug back in Aug but no solution so
far!

Hi, I'd strongly suggest getting the most recent stable. To save me keep
repeating myself - head over to

for more information.

The bug is still present, even after such a long time. Chromium is
practicely unusable because of that.

Title:
I also have experienced quite often the same problem.
It complains about a brocken libvdpau_nvidia.so, although I do not have nvidia
graphic card. I use a Lenovo Edge 430, so it has a Intel Graphic card.
