I have installed ibus-gtk
sudo apt-get install ibus-gtk
But the problem is still there. For example, if you copy and paste
something till you don't save or change the window focus, the mouse
pointer flickers.

Installed ibus-gtk (ibus-gtk3 is already installed) and now everything
is working properly.

I have this bug too but it also affected the keyboard, when typing every
few seconds some key presses would not register.
I installed ibus-gtk as recommended above and the problem has gone.

This bug affects me too. When text is selected and i cut it using ctrl+x
the cursor starts flickering and the cpu fan ramps up (i guess due to
some hide/unhide cursor loop). Only way to solve it is to restart gedit.
