Is there any progress regarding this issue? I just tested Gnome 3 on
Ubuntu and you need to tweak it a bit but afterwords it seems to be
quite good. But the session saving does not work. Also the suggested fix
does not work (Ubuntu 12.10).

After seeing this in some older version of Ubuntu this issue never
reoccurred with whatever USB stick or -drive I have. I currently use

I think the problem has come back again. I did a fresh install post
beta 2 (April-07 daily build) on my production partition as my test
partition had been running so well (see my comment 2013-03-16).
Unfortunately the video diver was then broken again.
Now running OK on proprietry AMD

We have it on the images anyway. As long as we do, it doesn't cost us
much to keep it around for those users who wish to play with wayland.
If this changes then we'll revisit the backend choice again.

Oleksij, could you please retest with the latest drm-intel-nightly?
Since your last report there has been link training and IRQ handling
fixes that could have solved your problem.
The WARN in your dmesg is the same as in bug#51983, so if that's the
only remaining issue
