With the latest patches on Wednesday 24.8.16 I am not able to click the
filemanager "Files" Version 3.14.3 after suspend mode.
When I click it, it is busy for a few seconds but nothing happens, "Files" does
not open, I have to reboot

plugged in and boot into the new install and log into to the lubuntu
desktop and move over to the nm-applet and notice it says that your
ethernet device is not managed and showing connectoin information
