Hi, just chiming in to say I've encountered this behavior as well. When
my headphones are plugged into the combo jack, the internal microphone
is listed as 'unplugged'.
Current workaround is simply to unplug the headphones when I want to
talk into the mic.

The good news is that I just had to modify the "-std=" just in 4 places and all
compiled fine .
The bad one is that I received a "Memory exausted" error when it build
libxul.so .
But I upgraded the machine from 8 gb of RAM to 16 gb of RAM and in 2-3 hours it
will try again to build libxul.so
Here is what I did .
apt-get install build-essential fakeroot devscripts
apt-get build-dep firefox
apt-get install icecc
apt-get install clang-5.0
apt-get install python-dev
apt-get source firefox

Just noticed I made a mistake earlier. It was libreoffice 5.4.5.1 that
would not connect. Reverting back to 5.1.6.2 did work as did updating to
