I have the same issue on Ubuntu 23.10 using VirtualBox 7.0.14 when using i3. It doesn't occur when logging in using Ubuntu (Gnome). The issue doesn't occur when enabling 3D Acceleration in VirtualBox (but it slows down everything a lot). Can also confirm uninstalling libva-wayland2 helps. --
